Bakeshop is everything a bakery should be but with a modern twist. It’s like a hip grandma you wanna hang with. Like what?! But it’s true.
I went on a Monday morning in the fall which turned Monday from the worst to the best day with one bite of a pumpkin macaron. I mean it really was that good and the smell of everything else says you cannot go wrong here. I complimented my macaron with a latte with skim milk (I think). It was wet (coffee drinkers’ word for milky) and smooth. The coffee was light and did not have a bitter aftertaste.
The latte comes in one size and was $4.25; the macaron was $2.75.

It was a Monday so, of course, then I settled in to read for my class. A man in the shop commented, “Wow, that is a large book,” and I couldn’t disagree. Gotta love law books, right?? I swear they will cause me back problems. I sat at the bar facing the window which has three seats, but they also have 2 other tables inside. It is a small, clean space, with tons of seating outside too.

On one wall there is a hip art deco style mural that is a mix of bright yellow, blue, and pink. That mural is so special that it sits by a counter full of pastries that honor its name–scones, cupcakes, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, croissants, cinnamon rolls, and I could go on. Above the counter is a menu with drinks and prices for the food. Not only do they make pastries but they can make a beautiful breakfast sandwich too.

While hip and exciting, this is not the best place to study at. The music is a little loud (but great taste) and, as mentioned, there is not a ton of indoor seating. Nevertheless, it has WIFI with no password (click on it and let a bubble pop up to grant access).
— well that’s all for now my little bean buddies, gotta get back to that giant law school book 😉 but we’ll update you soon with more of our ceaseless coffee findings
