Okayyyy, so what does this buzz word even mean? Lets break it down.
First, the definition of imposer syndrome is the persistent inability to believe that one’s success is deserved or has been legitimately achieved as a result of one’s own efforts or skills.

This is the definition but it shows up in many different ways. Oftentimes, imposter syndrome looks like one feeling like they do not belong and everyone else does. Or that someone will figure out that you are not meant to be somewhere. However, it can show up in a number of other ways. It could mean that you feel like you do not look “like a med student” or a “law student.” It is feeling like everyone else knows more than you or has more experience than you or deserves something more.
What do I do if I feel this way? This may be rolling around in your mind. I would urge you to remember your value and that you bring something to every room you show up in. You bring something no one else could bring to every room you show up in. If you are not a lawyer, a med student or x, y, z, then a room that might have needed you will miss out. Clients and patients who need your skills will miss out. Do not be surprised if these annoying feelings of inferiority show up, but remember you do not have to listen to them.
