Slow by Slow

405 S 8th St Suite 155, Boise, ID 83702

Clean, simple, intentional. Slow by Slow is located in Boise, ID, and it is a little unassuming from the outside but don’t let this catch you off guard. This coffee shop opens up into space for studying, working, flirting, chatting, and exploring new relationships; while I studied here for finals, I saw it all.

I asked the barista for his recommendation and ordered the El Salvador black coffee for $6 . It had a bright flavor, a bit of citrus without being overpowering. This coffee packs a punch of flavor, but if you like to really taste your coffee this is a great recommendation  for you. The menu consists of multiple pour overs that you can watch be beautifully crafted as you wait for your order to be finished. The atmosphere is clean but homey. Set in whites and light browns there is a sense of calm while the warm lighting brings you in as if to give you a warm hug. I came here on a rainy day in Boise so this sentiment was even more pronounced.

There is a small section of pastries from what I saw as well as a wall of merchandise and coffee for sale. The space is not huge but they make good use of it with three tables for 2, 3 tables for 6, a bar that fits 3, and two lower set wood lounging chairs in the back. The wooden chairs are not the most comfortable to sit in for hours on end, but maybe for some of you your life doesn’t require sitting in the same place for hours. Honestly, I wish mine wasn’t so full of it either. But, alas, med school.
