Peach walls. Pink booths. Turquoise accents. Plants.
These are all descriptions of Cameo, a hip coffeeshop in the SE of DC. I walked in to this place on a Wednesday morning and saw some of the working population of DC had already beat me there. I nestled in a booth and joined the crowd clicking away, making this country run (them not me, to be clear).

One of the first things I noticed about this place was the welcoming baristas. Throughout my time, I heard them chatting away with locals like old friends (they probably were). As a result, this place felt like a part of the neighborhood, and I felt like maybe I could be too just be being here.

I ordered an iced latte (4.95) and was tempted by the enticing pastries. They served my iced latte in a glass, and for some reason, this made it so much better. I get that the glass container cannot actually effect the taste of the coffee but man did it just hit the spot.

The coffee was sweet and nutty to taste. Perfect motivation. This morning I was studying for the bar and needed the extra caffeine.

The coffeeshop itself is part of a hotel lobby/food hall, so it is tricky to find. But just enter the hotel doors and its inside!
